Project Overview

Over the years, Railroad Lake at Rotary Park had become heavily silted due to runoff. In early 2025, the City hired a contractor to begin a dredging project to help deepen the pond. In 2024, Parks staff performed limited work to increase the depth around the lake edges but was unable to get the entire lake to the desired depth. Work began with the removal enough silt to create a 6-8-foot depth throughout the entire lake. This helped restrict algae growth and improve the aesthetics of the lake.
