Special Event or Temporary Use Permit is required for activities that temporarily use public or private property for events outside normal business operations. Applications must be submitted at least 10 business days before the event. Depending on the scope of the activity, a fee may be required. The City of Blue Springs requires a Special Event or Temporary Use Permit for any activity that temporarily uses public or private property for purposes outside normal business operations. Events such as outdoor gatherings, parades, block parties, walks or runs, outdoor or tent sales, mobile charitable solicitations (Boot Blocks), and other temporary activities identified by the City all fall under these requirements. Permits ensure public safety, proper coordination, and compliance with City standards.
